I was so pumped up for this after watching the live chats but the photo's posted so far are hard to defend. I haven't pre ordered this so I will wait and see.
I will reserve judgement until I have it in hand, however, as they say "a picture is worth a thousand words" well these pics (which I agree raise concerns) are now making their way into various social media, including the official JP toys Facebook group, which has approximately 3,500 members. I do think Chronicle should get out in front of this, either they remain confident that customers are going to be thrilled with this statue and they believe customers will post pics that generate positive reaction or they need to acknowledge potential QC issues and offer their customers a proposed solution.

Watch everyone in the U.S. get masterpieces compared to overseas rex If Chronicle's own videos are any indication, US pieces are going to be far better. It looks like at least some detail work was done with an airbrush but the dab brush work is still in effect. According to Paul this rex was the first rex(I don't know if he means #1 rex or just the first production rex they got in the mail)and was given to a staffer. My belief is it was done earlier in the production run, hence better work was applied to it before they started getting lazy or put less experienced workers into the mix:
IMO it looks superior in every way. The paint app is much cleaner. Spots are less all over the place. If I can get this, I'm a happy man. The dabbed brush spots can suck on my half burned 3 wood club, but everything else is alright by me. It's no custom paint app, but it's enough to call off my repaint dogs

I will always wait until the product is in my hands. Why? Because Ive already waited this long and people are overreacting already. I understand worry, but CC has made good on subpar paint jobs before and if these are truly as bad as people are making them out to be I am sure they'll make good.
