Yea, see Gary's picture.... Perfect example of what I'm saying. You can still see enough on angles back there, but it helps hide the seams. I like the Wall & would be pissed if it didn't come with it originally. It's got good details and tells a story.

What I love about it is how it feels the Big Chap is camouflaged with the Nostromo. With the right lighting, it's absolutely epic!

I'm still just glad I got one without any breakages. I hope P1 has learned their lesson. However, based on their responses regarding replacements, packaging and the bust, it's still going to be a crap-shoot.

I love the wall. It creates a a nice diorama. The interior design of the Nostromo is almost as hardcore as the creature itself. Cold geometric shapes, that have s sterile feel with hard lines, futuristic but a kinda minimalistic. Creeps the ---- out of me still to this day.

Look at the big tubes where they connect to the back. They didn't even paint the bonds.

They did a good job detailing the inner mouth, even where you wouldn't be able to normally see.

No but Sideshow usually takes a few days and seems like this was announced without notice so other retailers may take a bit.

LOL, I mean, if those seams bothered me that much, I'd just dry brush some paint match over them, rather then put up a giant wall to block my view.

The wall backdrop was originally created to include a wall mountable display option and doubled as a kind of diorama whether or not you chose to wall mount it. The rerelease will not be wall mountable.

It's a shame they didn't include an extended tongue for this piece.

The back of mine didn't look bad when I had it. I think its strongest angles are its front-right corner (head facing you), its right side, and its back-right corner so you can still see some of the head from behind.

The dorsal tubes give it such a unique, dynamic silhouette. I think the very front of this is actually the weakest angle since you don't get the tubes and, even if you did, the wall swallows up the entire silhouette. Yet that's the angle they designed it around.

Not the same price. Both the standard and DX are $200 cheaper than their original counterparts due to the wall missing.

I can see why some folks like the backdrop as it gives the whole piece its own world to roam around in, but for me, silhouette is king. I'd be thrilled with paying $200 less to preserve it.




But seeing as there's no ES and therefore no rush to preorder this one, I'd rather save the money and use it to commission a print and paint-up of my own 1/3 Warrior Alien sculpt. I can model the base in the same style as the upcoming 1/3 Jungle Hunter and boom, I'd have the Aliens vs. Predator display no company seemed interested in providing.
