Thanks.. and yeah, fishing cures all ills. I gotta say, I almost enjoy fishing as much as I do surfing. Waterskiing's fun too, but... the older I get, the more of a b!tch it gets (plus, I could stand to lose 15 lbs or so). I can still slalom, though.. but I ski on my face for 30 seconds before the boat pulls me up.

I go up with a couple buds and our ladies (and/or family, though I usually do "family trips" separate from friend trips.. just one trip this year), but if we're not doin' something as a group, I just.. veg out and look out at the lake.. for hours.

Fishing's great, agreed; .. lots of blue gill and trout at this lake... good eatin'.

man I wish I only had to lose 15 or so pounds, I looked like a vienna sausage in my waders this last weekend. The worst part was when I farted it stayed in my waders because no air could get out past my waist!

My big "weight test" is one of two things: how fast I can run a mile (there's a track at a nearby school.. I change my diet until I can get under 8 minutes again), and how easily I can get into the wetsuit I've had for about 5 years now. If it's a tight fit, I cheat and use a springsuit (no sleeves/legs)... but typically if I can fit (and move) in the wetsuit I've used since my early 30's, I'm doing okay.

If I'm fat and in the full suit, I look like a seal. I have friends who are worse off than me, and friends who are my age and older who have Olympian-level physiques... so I'm good in the middle.
