That is/was always the case.
EU calculates the costumer Tax (21% btw) + standard import clearing cost over the total amount incl the shipping and (any hidden cost like dollar exchange and now extra tariff US-companies charge).

Thats why total amount feels as always paying everything twice. Percentages adds up very quick.

This is a 6" model kit by Threezero from BBTS for reference:

Hello,

Thank you for pre-ordering Mega Man 11 Mega Man (Premium Charge Shot Ver.) Model Kit (Standard Grade) from BigBadToyStore!

We are expecting this item to arrive soon and will begin processing pre-orders within several business days. This item is in a shipment that is subject to a tariff, and unfortunately, we need to increase our price. Because your pre-order was placed prior to the tariff announcements that took effect on April 9th, 2025, we will be absorbing most of the tariff increase. Unfortunately, we are not able to absorb the entire tariff increase, so we need to charge a higher price.

Your new pre-order price for this item has changed from $69.98 to $72.49. Please note that this price is lower than the new retail price listed on BigBadToyStore.com

If the tariff surcharge is something you do not wish to pay, you may cancel your item any time before your payment is processed. Customer Service will be happy to assist with refunds of any previously paid deposits for this item. Please review payment information now to ensure successful processing of your order.

You will receive an additional email once your order is processed for payment. If you are using our Pile of Loot feature, this item will be added to your Pile of Loot. If you are NOT using our Pile of Loot feature, please review your shipping address and payment information now to be sure they are correct. This will ensure the successful processing of your shipment.

If you need to make any other changes or updates you can do so by logging in to your BBTS account. Our Customer Service team, as always, will be ready to help.

Sincerely,

BBTS Customer Service

Thanks for the info. I'm glad BBTS is at least offering deposit refunds on pre-tariff items. It's going to be an interesting/painful rest of the year to see all these Tariffs start hitting hard.

I had just a Hot Toys figure ship from Sideshow Collectibles.
They added what they label as a Tariff Impact Fee which cost $18.30 (..on a statue probably a whole lot more).
Plus i will be hit with the usual 30% import fee, which applies to UK collectors.

Needless to say, once my pre_orders have shipped from the US, purchasing collectibles from the US is not a viable option, as i will be hit with a 'Tariff Impact Fee' + '30% Import Fee' + 'Higher Than Ever Shipping Fee'.

2025 will be the year i remember as me easing out of the hobby, at the very lease, picking up one or two pieces per year maximum.

Yeah, I've definitely cooled off and see myself down to 1 or 2 a year now.

Man... This is about Turkish Aconomy, actually. I checked out my statue buying history from a local store yesterday.

I could have gotten 19 Sideshow PFs with my credit card limit in 2021.

I can get only 3 Sideshow PFs with the same amount of credit card limit in 2025. :/

The Inflation, devalutaion, tariffs and stuff in Turkiye are crazy man. If Sideshow wants to sell me a PF at this point, they need to really knock my socks off to make me pay the crazy PF prices of today. If it was 2021 though, i would get PFs left and right......... :/
