Rolling Stones. Yeah they're old geezers but they still rock.

I'll go with Nirvana, but that's only because..
.. Foo Fighters and STP were not listed. And someone mentioned G-n-R. They are great, but didn't they peak in the late 80's - very early 90's?

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Interesting poll! Given the choices listed I'd have to say its a toss up between Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins, but I think Pearl Jam just edges the Pumpkins out. HOWEVER, had STP been an option, I would have voted them hands down.
Soundgarden is actually my personal fav on the list, but in terms of being the *best* I think PJ and SP are a notch above the rest.

Not voting on this poll. I've heard of these groups, but I don't think I have any of their stuff on CD. Think I got Pearl Jam and Nirvana on cassette. Got a little of every one of these guys music on compilations. Just don't have a favorite here.

No competition...... TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have to be the most creative bands to come around in a long time. Take a look at their songs, they actually mean something. You can take Tool songs three different ways: literally, metaphorically, and if you can ever figure this one out, Tool's own meaning to the song. Who else takes hallucinogens to inspire their videos?
Second would be NIN. They have most of the same qualities of Tool but I like Tool's stlye better.
And third would be Nirvana. They would probably come in second had they lasted through the decade. Its a shame Cobain is no longer around. He spawned the Grudge era and has been a major influence on most rock bands of today. I got their box set With The Lights Out for Christmas. It has a bunch of unreleased songs, acoustic recordings, an different versions of other songs.
