Back in the day...(Silver Age)

There were many villians (and a few heroes) whose origns were linked to them being small time inventors...guys who tinkered in garages and basements coming up with (often silly) inventions that allowed them to commit trivial crimes that drew the attention of our favorite heroes...

Most of these guys were warped geniuses and their simple inventions bordered on the insipid, yet nonetheless they appeared with great regualarity in the comics of the day, both DC and Marvel...

Who was your favorite?

Who had simple origins and silly powers/weapons and in spite of them became a fond character in your memory?

Which of these types of comic characters would you recommend to the

"I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY REALLY CREATED THIS CHARACTER AND WE BOUGHT IT" HALL OF FAME????

Now I can't confirm the exact origins or powers of these guys, but a couple come to mind...

1) Paste Pot Pete (the other thread inspired me on this one) MARVEL
2) Mirror Master DC
3) Asbestos Man MARVEL
4) Weather Wizard DC
5) Mr. Doll MARVEL
6) The Mad Hatter DC

The Rainbow Rider (retroactively changed to Raider--Yeah, that made him cool..) is one that I was befuddled by even as a kid. He creates rainbows and drained all of the color out of the Flash, leaving him white, which weakened the hero significantly. Luckily Flash was able to regain his natural color by vibrating through a bunch of objects. Then Flash was able to surprise the Rainbow Rider with his renewed vigor, because it turns out that the RR is color blind. This guy totally lowers the bar for joining the Rogues. They just can't kill him enough.

Right-on! Definitely Stilt-Man. Cool costume, but totally impractical gimmick.

I still have a fondness for the Mad Thinker. I'm not sure if he's alive or if it's nothing but robot bodies for him these days.

Stiltman has to top the list!

I don't remember his origin but I remember how lame he was: the Rocket Racer! A dude on a skateboard taking on Spidey. Yeah, right!

And I kinda liked the Kangeroo, but all he did was bounce around.
