Fables and Ex Machina: Worth Reading?
I just finished the first 7 trades of Y The Last Man. The series was entertaining and I enjoyed it.
That got me thinking that I might pick up the trades for Fables and/or Ex Machina. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions on either of these series?

If you are looking for a new title, Emissary has been pretty interesting.
If you like Vertigo, do you read Hellblazer?

If you liked Y, then I think you'll enjoy both Fables and Ex Machina. Fables is my favorite of the three by far, though I've only read the first 2 trades of Ex Machina, so it's not a fair comparison.

You've just named the 3 of the trades I most enjoy, currently. I recommend going all in for each of these. I don't see how anyone could not like Fables. Ex Machina is worth it for the art alone and the story is really intriguing, although if I tried to summarize, it wouldn't sound like it.

2 definite votes is enough for me. I can get the 11 trades for $60 so its not too much of an investment. I think I'll snag them.

yes, please come forward with reviews/opinions, especially Ex Machina. I've been considering reading it, but for a number of reasons it strikes me as one of those series that "tries too hard to be cool". Any yeas or nays would be welcome.

Like Ex Machina a lot, not sure where it's going but I'm enjoying the ride. Very interesting characters and serious storylines (at times). The timeframe flip flopping can be a little confusing though.

Ex Machina is a must, I don't always agree with it's (political) point of view, but BKV is a solid writer and it's a great ride. Fables is brilliant, great concept and just when you think this story is going to wear down and become tired another curve is tossed right at your head. Both these books are going to be talked about years after they are gone much like Preacher and Sandman.
