I already own the Prime 1 Arkham Origins Deathstroke. It's a GREAT representation of a modern Deathstroke (even though it's 1/3 scale). The costume looks phenomenal and very practical/tactical. That said, I only want a classic Perez Deathstroke in both 1/6 & 1/4 scale. I don't think that's unreasonable. If your a fan of ANY character, you'll usually want a classic version of that character in your collection. Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Cap, etc...Can you imagine sideshow releasing those PFs in only their modern costumes? You'd have a lot of upset collectors if that was the case.
So, I'm not complaining about this new PF. I think it looks good and will make a wonderful addition in any collection. I'm way more upset that sideshow completely screwed the pooch with the OG Deathstroke PF. You could tell that PF was supposed to be a more classic version of the character. It was not. It was a bastardized version of his classic Perez costume. Sideshow completely dropped the ball with the 1st PF and now classic fans are left to wonder....will we ever get a chance to add a classic 1/4 Deathstroke to our collection?

From my perspective, I did not take it that way at all. It's all good. I just think that everyone has their take on a character and how they wish to see the character portrayed as well. No wrongs or rights....just hopes, thoughts and in some cases--expectations. I hear you on the SS OG Deathstroke PF. I don't have it but a friend of mine does. I have to admit, when I first saw it in person, it really did not have any "wow" factor and actually seemed pretty dull to me. (Again, that is just my opinion). Despite this new one not sporting any firearms of any kind and still not looking like the original comic designs from Mr. Perez, I do at the very least see this new pose as being much more dynamic than that of the OG one. He will certainly have a greater presence than that of the OG one as well in that he will certainly take up more real estate on the shelf as well. But again, I never jumped on the OG Deathstroke as I really wasn't into learning much of the character at that time. Not until recently. And now that I have learned a bit more, I kinda associate him more along the lines of the Titans and Damien Wayne, Talia, Ras, the League of Assassins/Shadows and that's when he became more intriguing to me.
I recall watching him in live action on the Arrow series and thought to myself......."ok, this guy is pretty interesting....". But then I later saw him in live action on the HBO Max's "Titans" and I think that was when i started to get more into him. Then watching the Son of the Batman animated really gave me a different outlook on him and saw how Damien stabbed him in the eye. That was a pretty cool twist for me.
Regardless, we are all here sharing our love, passion and nostalgia for the hobby. Not too sure there will ever be that perfect piece that will be made to make everyone who looks at it perfectly happy....but of course we all have the option to grab a piece or not or perhaps go the route of commission work or not. Either or, this type of thing is one of the things that helps to keep the hobby interesting and moving.
And for the record, I still love this hobby, still am very much invested in it and am still working with my displays and completing the displays that I am interested in completing.
Cheers to you all.
