Kickstarter Open Source Death Star
So you signed your name to the Death Star petition … big deal. Are you prepared to put your money where your mouth is and actually fund it? The folks at Gnut.co.uk are, and they hope you’ll join them in the effort to crush those Rebel snots. That’s right, you, too, can take part in a massive Kickstarter effort to build a functional planet-sized battle station.
In reality, there is no way in God’s green earth that they pull this off, but it’s not like they’re unaware of that fact. Hasn’t stopped them from raising more than $454,000 as of this writing, though. With a target goal of around $33 million, we wouldn’t suggest getting your hopes up, but it never hurts to try, right?
Even though it probably won't happen for years if ever but it is cool to think about!!
