If you had the power to turn your marriage license into something like a driver's license which had to be renewed every two years or else it would become null and void, would you?
In this case, after the two years are up, you are free and have no ties to your spouse whatsoever, only child support (not spousal), if necessary.

Would you want to get to know your favorite singer/ actor/ famous person knowing that you'll likely end up knowing them as normal people with flaws and insecurities or even as a-holes/-----es, and thereby 'destroying' what it was that made them your favorite singer/ actor/ famous person to begin with?

Absolutely. I can do without the Depends and Dementia years, thank you very much. It's quality, not quantity, I say.
If you could change your SF handle to Risingstar and bask in all the coolness that comes with that, would you?
