To each his own, of course- but that's my favorite part of the statue, both in terms of the color it adds as well as the composition/sense of movement it imparts.
There are plenty of Flashes out there in a frozen running pose. This one, to me, feels like he's actually
traveling. Which is ironic since it's supposed to represent him running in place.
For a few reasons this missed making the cut for me.
However I don't expect to ever see another Flash statue that is this compositionally interesting, nor integrates a character specific prop/situation as well as this one does.
Also- using the blue in the vortex like that yields a quasi-primary/process color palate reminiscent of a classic comic book, which may be the most appealing thing about it to me.
Congrats to anyone who has this coming.
