Official Dark Souls Thread

I didn't see one of these threads and decided there should be one. Please delete if there is a duplicate named something else.

Anyone else grab this game? I am hopefully getting my hands on it next week and plan to slay some demons. Everyone that I have talked too told me how much of a challenge it is and that even though you die allot you don't have to worry about the "affinity" affecting what you do in the game.
What type of character do you plan to make?

Also, put all secrets and tips here!

i played the hell out of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls should be more of the same which is a good thing. If you go slow in the game and learn how to dodge/block and use your endurance properly then you'll go far. If you approach the game like any other hack n slash title you'll die a million times.

Anyways I grabbed it on the 360 (since I sold my PS3 a while ago).

Started with a Pyromancer. Haven't put a ton of time into it (just over an hour) but reached Soul Level 7 and made it to the Undead Burg.

the dark souls wiki page is 100% vital for tips/assistance with this game: http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/About+Dark+Souls

still love this trailer for the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JhP4iLolRk

RESURRECTION!

With Dark Souls 2 on the horizon I thought I'd bump this thread. Any Demon/Dark Souls fans still here? I have to say it's easily one of the best series this generation, especially given the hand holding mentality and design most last/current gen games display, this series is a true beacon of hope. With over 15 playthroughs of Dark Souls alone I'm super excited for part 2 which has already been confirmed to be even harder than it's predecessors with the new mechanics they implemented. March can't come soon enough.

Just put 75 down on the collectors edition today. Almost finished with new game + on Dark souls, but Arkham city has gotten me side tracked.
