I’ve brought it up from time to time but I’ve always pondered if there would be a market for companies instead of including bonus switchouts for deluxe editions, they would just offer superior paint jobs for a limited 10% of the run.

Queen did something similar for its 1/4 scale Joker. They had the artist edition (which was supposedly painted better) and the regular version. The artist edition was WAY more expensive. I am not sure if anyone ever compared these pieces after the fact or how different the paint jobs actually are.
