I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

best product to use to remove sticky stuff without damaging paint?

Hi, i received a statue with tiny sticky looking gels all over it (like when you try to peel a 3M tape off after a while and not do it properly), i have no idea what they are.

I tried to clean it off with tiny bit of water+microfiber cloth, it doesnt work. Only way i could get them off is using my finger nails scratching it off.

But it's impossible to clean up the statue this way as it's all over the place.

Does anyone know a product that can somehow remove/loosen those sticky stuff without damaging the statue's paint? thanks

god i hate ebay...

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Best thing to do if the Seller didn't disclose the issue in the sale is send it back for a Refund.

As a general rule, try and steer away from buying displayed pieces.

Many people use products like Goo Gone or Goof Off. But I first remove as much adhesive as I can with a piece of tape, quickly touching and lifting repeatedly. It usually works quite well. You can use anything from scotch tape to masking tape to duct tape to packing tape, depending on how stubborn the adhesive is. Then any residue left over I remove with Bestine (rubber cement thinner). It's pretty mild and should not effect most paint, but it's always best to test in an inconspicuous area first.
