The Big chap always was rigid, he is a guy in a suit after all and this is a great replica of that creature. I want this thing, I just don't have much confidence in Coolprops production pieces sadly, and for the money that I expect this to command, that is a big worry.

That's where I stand as well.

Jokingly and seriously, anything but a classroom skeleton.
I do have the SS LSB and the detail is awesome. This looks like it will and can top it for sure, but the body. Even the curl of its tail has more life in it than the body.

Yeah, sad really as they have worked so hard to get this thing right, having P1 produce it was surely an option given their collaborations with the license? Whoever they are using doesn't inspire confidence sadly. I intended to order early so that I could flex it and ease the financial pain. But I think I might just put that money aside each month and see if waiting to see in hand pictures is an option before handing over what will undoubtedly be a very big chunk of change.
I have absolutely zero issues ordering the Prime 1 Dog alien straight away however.

I hear you. They're a new company and they're tackling a demanding franchise for their first go, so maybe there's a learning curve and maybe they'll surprise us in the end. But like you said, I couldn't justify a pre-order at these prices, given what we've seen from them so far. I won't roll the dice at this level.
My only worry about P1's Dog is the price. I think it's gonna hurt.

Yeah, I'm sure they will get there eventually, but in time to actually do this beautiful statue justice? I'm not so sure. Fingers crossed though as I'd really... REALLY like to buy this thing.
Go check out the Dog thread ASAP! It actually isn't as painful as I expected, $1500 if you don't want the second closed mouth head. And it's beautiful. Hopefully this big chap will be a similar price to the regular one headed Dog...

Isn't Prime 1 producing this, though?

No. This is a collaboration between CoolProps and Giger Museum.

Sadly not. I say sadly not because CP and the Giger museum aren't an awesome partnership, they have created a beautiful prototype that I'd love to own. But Prime 1 have a reputation for delivering quality production pieces which would have been a nice edition to this project.

The problem is they won't tell us if they'll make their own Big Chap until CoolProps' version is sold out..
