It depends. If you are moving locally (less than 100 miles away) or moving to another city (greater than 100 miles away).
If moving locally, let it ship and when it gets to your local carrier facility, have it held at the closest holding location near your old address. Then you can drive to that holding location and pick it up (within 5 days, if I'm not mistaken).
If moving to another city, I'd find out if the carrier (FedEX, UPS, etc) would allow you to redirect the package to a holding location closer to your new location. And if it costs money to do so.
This way you could have your package shipped close to you without having an actual address yet.
