Another hobby of mine is macro photography. The macro lens is also suitable for statues.

Neat set up. Some great pieces in there. The blue mermaids look excellent!

Thank you
I love the Twin Mermaids. In my opinion one of the best ARH statues

When I unpacked Nariko, the strand of hair broke off

I've never repaired anything like this and watched tens of videos on the internet.
The best tips and tricks came from punisher2000 who is also here in the forum.
Many thanks for your support

I've set up a little corner in the basement ...

... and repaired Nariko.

That was a lot of fun and that's how I found my new fun hobby.

But it takes a lot of patience.
I could write a book about cleaning an airbrush gun. About the wrong mixing of colors too.
And when paint comes out of the gun, it doesn't look the same on my statue as it does on the statues from Sideshow or Prime 1.
Not even close

But it's fun

Awesome, thanks for sharing! Everything looks tight, clean and well organized. Nice collection of statues!

My Starfire will be here tomorrow, I'm looking forward to putting her in my TH collection. I have a recast kit of that Red Sonja in my stash and I hope to get to it by this summer. FYI there is a good amount of kits of those old Yamato & SS statues for decent prices on eBay...great way to sharpen those paint skills. You did great on the repair work!

Room is very nice, congrats!

Thank you

My newest project: Repaint Hard Hero 1/6 Red Sonja

I got this Red Sonja statue on ebay for 70 euros. The amount was really the pain threshold.
But it will be a great project for sure.

- First of all, the color has to come off.
- Then do some sculping and grinding
- New paint.

In any case, I can practice a lot on the statue.
Painting:
- skin and face.
- hair
- metal
- leather
- Jewellery
- The dragon with scales, claws, ...

There was / is a lot of color on it.

I have three remedies that I use.
- Oven spray - I got that from a model building forum and because it is the least toxic I always start with it.
- The next level is isopropanol if the oven spray fails
- If Iso doesn't help then acetone ends up. But I don't like to work with it because it's just too toxic.

I saw a nice tip on this on the Internet.
Instead of placing the statue in a bath with isopropanol or Acton, the statue is wrapped
in kitchen paper and soaked that.

I sprayed the statue with oven spray and placed it in this bucket structure overnight. This prevents the whole house from stinking like oven spray

It works

What is missing from the statue is the skirt. It is actually attached to this square above the bottom. I still have to think about what to do.

Removing paint was still a lot of work.
It's an ice dragon
