My St. Louis Project Comicon Haul and ramblings / lessons learned...

Here they are...

I really screwed up and didn't bring enough references... Wanted to get a few more Venture Bros for my theme book but nobody was familiar enough to really do anything.

Oh well, I need to go through and get a bunch of screen caps to print out.

I also decided to switch up my main sketch characters from Harley Quinn and Raven to ... I... don't know. Squirrel Girl apparently, she's awesome. Might start throwing in some of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters...

Cool stuff. Did you happen to lose a sketch book or all your money this time?

Yep, left some prints in a sleeve at one Artist's table... Left a print at someone else's table... No misplaced books this time.

Lorenzo Lizana... He's coming to KC next PlanetCon... Probably will get a couple from him... Plus he's cheap!

I love both of them... I was really happy with the animeish one... Can't remember the artist's name off the top of my head and I don't think she was listed in the program.... She's in KC all the time... Bill will know.

Squirrel Girl IS awesome. I've been meaning to pick up some art with her in it too, but haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. Nice pickups.

Nice. SG played a fairly large role in that latest Osborn v Avengers storyline

Oh, as for references, I started bringing color photocopies some time back. 3-4 images of each character and about 5 copies of each. I just stuffed them in my art bag so I always had them

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do... I tend to get most of mine in sketchbooks so I should only need one reference sheet for each character...

It'll be interesting when I get all the Venture Bros Screen Capped... I'll need a whole binder for all of those characters... I'm going to stick with the main ones... but it'd be fun to get some of the oddball 1-2 appearance characters in there too.
