5 New Pieces- NYCBM 2013

All in all I had another fun time at this years NYCBM (New York Comic book Marketplace) which as one day shows go is pretty awesome I'd say.

I got four sketches done at the show.

Captain Universe, the current iteration in Avengers right now, as drawn by Ian Dorian.

Superman "baddie" La Encantadora by Billy Tucci.

Jokester, the heroic Joker of Earth 3, by Daxiong Guo.

And Mike Lilly's version of Tomorrow Woman.

Lastly I picked a George Perez commission my friend helped me get on the line of (and I similarly helped him get on the line for his own). Though I had some thoughts on a Titans character or two to get it quickly became clear since it's so hard to get on his list these days especially for a commission that I should go with my top choice which is always Tomorrow Woman. He only drew her in quick cameo's during JLA/Avengers before this (well and my prior headsketch of her by him) but he still did a fantastic job.

So I hope you all enjoy. I've uploaded them here for convenience and I have them on my CAF here.

Damn, great pieces for one days worth of line ride. Congrats on getting the Perez too

I'm sad I had to give up my Boston Perez slot. Ugh.

But question about Tucci -- do you have to wait in line for him? Or put a name on the list? I like his chioce of medium and was thinking about getting something in the future.

Mr. Tucci does take a list so you can put yourself down and then go about as he works through his list. I've only ever approached him at NYCBM so I don't know if that applies to his regular con appearances too.

He doesn't seem to be too swamped when I get on his lists(done it twice) but that might be himself capping his lines though I don't think he's had to.

Billy has pretty fast turnarounds and is always taking a list. He likes to know if you're at the con one day or multiple days so he can fit you in with a timely approach.

His prices aren't horrific, either. I have 10 or so pieces by him over the years. Always a stand-up guy.

Sweet! That's great info.

Speaking of price, do you mind saying what he was charging?

Don't know if it's what he normally charges at shows or if it's special for NYCBM shows but...

It's $25 for a headsketch and I believe $125 for a full body.

However, if you pay him a different amount between the two he'll draw more of the character depending on what you pay. IE I paid $40 for the one I got which was something of a bust.
