Leonidas 1/5th scale project! By Daniel Katcher

Ok, let's talk seriously now!

I have been receiving many enquires about a possible 1/5th scale Leonidas. After considering this for a couple of months, we decided that we need one!

So here is the deal. We contacted one of the best sculptors in the industry, Daniel Katcher, to take over this project. Although many of you may not be very familiar with his name, he has worked for McFarlane Toys and some other big name toy companies in the industry, and he is one of the sculptors (alongside with Ehren Bienert) responsible for many of the fantastic figures that McFarlane released.

I have posted a few images of Daniel's work below, so you all can see what I'm talking about! I believe that at this time there is no better choice for this project, and based on what we have discussed over the phone, this Leonidas 1/5th scale statue will be the best Leonidas statue ever made, and you guys can take my word on that. We will not settle for any lesser than the most impressive Leonidas statue ever!!!

But in order to make it happen we need to gather a few guys to pre-order it now. The cost of this project on top of all the other investments we have been making are a bit over our budget for 2009, and without some of you helping us to finance this project, it will be tough for me to come up with this money this year yet.

Ok, so before you make your decision here are some of the facts that we need to know:

The sculpting process time frame is about four weeks with one more week extension in case of some delays or changes that I might request for the figure.

I will post pictures of the whole process since its beginning to the completion of the sculpture, so we can all follow the development of this project up close.

The pose of the statue will be a semi-action pose with a big flowing cape and a possible victory pose. This part is still not completely decided, and I would like suggestions about it!

After the sculpture is done, then I will make here in my studio all the castings for those who pre-ordered it , and we will ship the painted statues within 30 to 45 days more.

All the pre-orders will be for the special AP edition limited to 50 statues, and they will come signed by the sculptor himself!

All pre-orders will get free shipping, plus a 20% bonus discount for any other ARH product purchased in the future.

The cost of the statue will be $250, and we guarantee full refund of your money in case you are not 100% happy with the final sculpture!

daniel is a great sculptor the hulk and flying monkey are awesome! this is sure to be a hit

if daniel reads this ...was the flying monkey a personal project?

this is gonna be a Kik ass peice

the Pallantides done for Mcfarlane Conan series is one of my fav pieces ever, i'd pay a small fortune for a 1/5th 1/4th statue of that, and I'm not even a conan fan.

Absolutely incredible body of work. No interest in Leo but I would like to add some of Daniels work so hopefully this won't be the only project he is involved in.
