Deathstroke Inc.

I just finished the Deathstroke Inc. vol. 1: King of the Super-Villains HC.

I didn't know Green Arrow has a dislike for Batman. He was target practicing with Black Canary and using Batman's picture for target practice. lol While complaning about Batman to Black Canary.

The Title of the book is Deathstroke Inc., but the most of the book was just a Deathstroke and Black Canary team up. Even if a Deathstroke and Black Canary team up is a nice idea, it was like ''Oh Deathstroke died and in the the next issue, oh he didn't die... and then oh, Deatstroke tries to kill Black Canary and oh no he didn't, Deathstroke betrayed Black Canary and then oh, no he didn't...'' lol Let down after let down... lol The small and obscure villians' reason and plan to come together and create their own little legion of doomesque super villain team was just ridiculous... lol

The art was inconsistent and mostly not that good. And i didn't like how the volume ended with a giant ''it will continue in Dark Crisis'' note... I don't want to read the damn Dark Crisis, i just came here to read Deathstroke, why can't these books be self contained !?!?! This is one of the lame parts of a shared universe, they always try to make you read the big event at the time... Or referencing to some other title to try to make you read it... Annoying.

Deathstroke Inc. issue 8-9 was not collected in the Deathstroke Inc. Hard Covers, but it was collected in the Batman: Shadow War HC. A little Deathstroke centered Batman Event. I got Batman: Shadow War HC as well, so i will read it next.

Edit: Oh, Deathstroke felt guilty and sorry about how he treated his family and decided to be a good guy now in the Book. A sudden change of heart... lol

March 19, 2025. I finished the Deathstroke Inc., vol. 2: Year One HC so i write my review (here) on the post that i reserved for it.

It was a decent read. As you can see from the Year One title it was the origin story of Deathstroke. It was about how Slade became a super soldier and then how he took his first assassination job and became an assassin. It was kind of a grounded take where Slade made alot of mistakes and they didn't try to make him an anti-hero who fights for some ''noble'' and ''just'' cause. Definetly plus points for this.

He became an assassin because he wanted the money and he liked to kill people. That was the job that he liked to do and he would kill anyone for the right amount of money. Once he took the contract to kill someone, it didn't matter who is right or who is wrong for him. The contract must be fulfilled, that is what is being a professional assassin is to him. Dexter Soy's art was not bad, as far as i know he is the current Nightwing artist and it looks like he is doing an ok job on my boy. No complains. The Title of the book was Deathstroke Inc., but there was no super villain team or any kind of team that was led by Deathstroke in the volume. It was just an origin story with Slade and his best friend Wintergreen.

The First Super Hero, Slade faced in the book was Green Arrow. I liked that as well because what really made me like Deathstroke was the Judd Winick's Green Arrow run so it was nice to see he went up against Green Arrow on his first mission as an assassin. It was a nice touch for me.

I actually enjoyed Deathstroke Incorporated only because there were so much of a focus on Black Canary, who is my favorite DC character

I have to say I truly enjoyed Dark Crisis. I definitely get your frustration of things having to lead to something else that leads to something else and I do miss the days of a lot of self-contained stories, but I felt that our crisis was actually one of the better DC crossovers.

Well, i generaly enjoy reading super hero comics. I enjoyed some badly executed parts of Deathstroke Inc, vol. 1 as well. lol I like Black Canary too, but a person must have low standarts to call Deathstroke Inc., vol. 1 a good super hero comics. I give it 4/10.

I just found the We Are Robin, vol. 2 in one of my bottom shelves... I totally forgot about this thing. I got We Are Robin, vol. 1-2 TPBs and Robin War HC so long a go.

This was before i learned my lesson and stop charging head on to any collected edition of a Bat-Title... lol I wonder where i put vol. 1 of it and the Robin War HC. This was also before i learned my lesson and stop putting the collected editions that i haven't read yet into boxes. So they are probably in the storage room in some box. There are so many boxes there, it would be such a chore to try to find them...

I guess i won't be able to read We Are Robin and Robin War for a long time.

As far as i learned there are alot of complains especially on twitter about what Deathstroke did in judas contract. (i just heard it, i don't use twitter)

People say because of all the complains, DC Comics will never give Deathstroke his own book again.

Eh, if they don't give another book to Slade then my money stays in my pocket. You can never have a villain as the lead anyway... I like Slade as a villain, when they give him a book, they make him a guy who tries to change his ways and be an anti-hero who aspires to be an hero or something. lol
