Homemade Pizza

Anybody make their own pizza? I started doing it once in a while after seeing a YT vid for 1-hour pizza. The dough is really easy to make using a cup of beer I just do everything by hand, no electric mixers or beaters needed. For baking, I just use a round pan, put down some aluminum foil, and grease it with olive oil.

This one has 5 cheeses (mozzarella, asiago, romano, provolone, and parmesan. Toppings this time are bacon, mushrooms, onion, and pepperoni. Oh, and I like my pizza cooked well done with golden brown cheese

What is the purpose of the beer? Is it a taste thing?

It's part of the bread fermenting process...the recipe vid says the beer is there to stand in for all of the yeasty flavors that we would usually get from long, slow fermentation using only yeast. So it's kind of a clever shortcut to making pizza dough quicker.

My mom's made her own pizza my whole life.

Usually she made the dough from scratch, but in recent years, she would buy a special pizza dough that some big grocery chains make fresh daily (but act like they don't want to sell).

My brother's been making his own for years too. Swears by the need for a pizza steel. Also uses a cornmeal dusting underside. I think he recently switched to an outdoor pizza oven. I'll have to find out which one.

It's nice when you find something to add to the rotation.

Yeah, five different types of cheese.
It's nice to see that "my body is my temple" hasn't reached everyone

Your pizza looks delicious. I might try it sometime

I honestly think the reason I refuse to make something like this is because I would definitely eat too much of it. My temple will turn into the entire city.
