Flash Premium Format

Not a lot of hype has been building for the Flash statue, but it's one that I'm really looking forward to. I know the still frame is a work in progress, and subject to change, but there is one detail that really caught my eye: the unmasked Flash portrait.

I can't think of another statue whose portraits are as crucial, mostly due to the two men to famously don the Flash's garbs: Barry Allen and Wally West. DC hasn't brought Wally West into the New 52, which is a shame because he's the hero I grew up reading and identifying as Flash. In fact, I can't think of another hero who comes close to what Wally did, filling his predecessor's shoes and truly making them his own for so long.

Should Sideshow create an unmasked version of Flash, I hope they do not neglect fans of either Wally or Barry, and create a whopping THREE portraits to satisfy all parties. What are your thoughts?

Pose doesnt make sense. Flash putting on a glove while fast electric movement surrounds him?

I would prefer starting to run or coming to a stop pose.

I'd prefer Wally West but wouldn't mind either way. They look fairly similar.

I'd have zero interest in any unmasked portrait myself.

I agree about the pose too, just doesn't suit the character. I'm not saying he has to be running, actually I'd prefer that he isn't, I just don't think the whole adjusting/putting a glove on is the best you can come up with for The Flash.

That said I'm very exited at the prospect of a Flash PF.

I like the pose, it makes him look kind of cocky which would suit Wally. Not to mention runners are pretty finicky with their gear. I'd hate an action pose and there's little choice far as museum poses go. Crouching would look weird so that only leaves adjusting his glove, cracking his knuckles or just standing with arms to the sides or crossed.

the mask, lighting on the belt and wings on the boots say that is a Barry based Flash statue.

if they are going for classic looks and doing the core JLA members then Barry makes more sense.

Wally got the short end of the stick. Barry would always come back once Mark Waid wasnt writing the book and Impulse being Kid Flash made Wally irrelevant. He is like Kyle Rayner but worse in the sense that is harder to give him something to do without confusing readers.

Fingers crossed for a sculpted glossy costume to minimise air drag

If Harley is fabric then I think Flash will be too.

I think a fully sculpted piece would be better for this character.

i love this pose...has a great sense of anticipation to it...one final adjustment to his glove and BAM !..he's gone

action (running) poses have been done before and they all look far too contrived for my taste
must add that i could care less for an unmasked Ex (if that's what SS is planning)

bring it !
