i agree the first few episodes were rather slow but it has really pulled me in now. I am enjoying it and looking forward to the next season. Never read the books so not sure what was changed. I do know that anything changed from the books has people lose their marbles though. Far worse than the supposed "rabid star wars fans".

I loved the way the show started, but the second half of the season was kinda meh to me. The big Suaron reveal wasn't that exciting. I wish we saw more of Balrog. It was also disappointing that Morgoth was barely mentioned and then forgotten.

They're saving Morgoth for another series that covers the 1st Age

Totally second what everyone is saying about CGI/visuals! I was honestly blown away! Would love a little more “internal reflection” among some of the characters however and while I do admit to missing the Tolkienesque dialogue, I did think there were some truly amazing quotes scattered throughout the season! Galadriel’s casting was spot on IMO! Super hyped for season two!
