thought the trailer looked great especially considering it was a teaser. I already love cavill as superman but affleck also looked great as batman, loved his outfit.

had little access to internet the last couple days so just so the trailer. Didn't seem as bad as people were saying but it definitely did not get me excited about the movie at all. Completely agree with WKTF about DC movies, enough with the dark pouty stuff.

WB did try to stay with his iconic portrayal and each movie got worse and worse, I would have to guess the perfect boy scout persona doesn't play out well to the general moving going audience...

Superman II was superior to the first and the rest simply were bad movies, poorly written, poorly produced and poorly directed. Their decline in popularity was not so much a function of character portrayal as they were just bad movies in general. Superman Returns was a clunker due it's dour portrayal of Superman as a moping, somber character and the idiocy of the attempt at retro-Donner storytelling.

Once that played out he has again struggled to find popularity in the sea of characters out there. The MoS Superman is reflective of the Superman DC has put forth form the last 10-15 years and certainly of the New 52 Superman.
Do I love it, no if I am being honest. I too prefer the more boy scout version and would have loved him to be reminiscent of Evans Captain America. Having said that DC/WB is using the Superman of the last decade or so that was born out of stuff like Kingdom Come, Earth One, Injustice and For Tomorrow. I enjoyed some of these recent stories and games immensely so I feel that there can be a viable, enjoyable, version of Superman within the DCCU.
Another thing to consider is that this teaser was primarily from the perspective of those opposing Superman. There is a decent chance that Supes/Clark won't be so down in the mouth when showcased from other perspectives.

I disagree about the last 10 - 15 years. No matter how dark his stories may have been, even after his death and return, it was the characters struggle as a champion that made him so strong. He's a difficult character for writers to get right but, as recently as Geoff Johns' and JMS' pre-New 52 run on the character, the correct writer can make Big Blue interesting and relevant. It was a function of the quality of the writing. The New 52 made a bit of a 180 turn on his character which turned me off completely. While MOS tried to make him a force for good, his dark, bitter and angry nature just was not the Superman for me and many others.
I do hope you're right about the perspective of the trailer, specifically.

Just saw these as well. The Batman suit looks amazing. All three will be the new icons in comic costumes.
I know the angle of the photo is skewing these sizewise with Bats and Wonder Woman looking big compared to Superman. I just hope the movie is shot in such a way that Afflect doesn't make Superman look like a 98lb weakling since he's 3-4 inches taller and about 30 pounds heavier. And that Wonder Woman mannequin looks way too big for Gadot.
