Yeah, maquettes were movie pieces, comiquettes were fully sculpted pieces, and PFs were 1/4 scale pieces with mixed media.
The problem from the start was mixing the criteria. Why make PFs only 1/4 scale, but comiquettes 1/4 and 1/5? That started the confusion because if you're new to the hobby, why wouldn't you assume that the Spider-Man comiquette was made to go alongside the Mary Jane AH comiquette? Or the X-23 with the Mystique comiquette? Meanwhile, they're different scales.
Then the DC line started and for whatever reason they decided on no DC comiquettes, maybe because they weren't licensed to do 1/5 DC, so they had to change the mixed media rule on PFs to accomodate Green Lantern and Poison Ivy. Then Galactus became a maquette because he wasn't any specific scale.
The labels keep shifting and it just creates confusion and backwards justifications. Just tell us the scale and materials because that's all anyone cares about anyway.
Clearly, X-23, Wolverine, Magneto and Rogue were all made to go together, so why are two of them maquettes and two of them PFs? Why create this confusion for new customers at all? Just tell us the scale and price them however you want.
