Detolf shelf adjustments

Hey guys,

I need some help. I've searched the threads, but can't seem find what I'm looking for ... problems is I know I've seen pictures on this site.

Anyway, can any of you guys help me with any info. on how to adjust the height on the Detolf display cases? I've seen pics of some shelves that have been adjusted with risers or some kind of hard plastic. There are a couple statues that I want to put in my detolf, but they won't fit.

Also, does anyone know the maximum weight per shelf?

Any help is appreciated.

true. also, I had some glass cut thicker for mine, for slightly heavier busts.

At one time, I had 24-lb Galactus LSB on shelf (1/4") but then Ikea responded to my inquiry that the side bar supports are not guaranteed to support the add'l weight of the glass and the bust.

So, the pressure (no pun intended) forced me to pull out (so to speak).

though I do have many shelves w/3/16" glass cut vs the 1/8" that shipped with the unit..

I saw a post at the other forum where a member cut ridges into 2x4s (for the metal rods) and boosted the shelves that way. May look nice if you stain the wood to match the detolfs.

Ah, I see. I was just looking to move the shelf up an inch or 2 to fit a couple other statues on there. Your idea is great, but requires a little more work a blow torch(?)
