Eric vs Erick Sosa
I just purchased an older bowen statue in HK. The box says it is sculpted by "Eric Sosa". Did I buy a real statue? I'm skeptical with a lot of things I buy in Asia.

Indeed. My question wasn't clear, sorry. But on the box, it is "Eric" not "Erick". Any issues either that?

Should be fine. This far down the line I doubt anyone is bootlegging a piece that old.

I am assuming that it was misspelled or rightly pronounced (any way you see it). Erick like myself is Mexican. In Spanish, his name is spelled without the "K". "Eric" and "Erick" are both correct ways to say it.
Now, going back to the statue. Erick (or Eric) did in fact sculpted the original Deadpool among other pieces for Bowen. He also worked with other companies before landing at Koto. By now, some of these pieces are considered classics among his fans.
