OK, Captain America: Winter Soldier by Ed Brubaker. This will be my choice unless I suddenly remember something better.

The Dark Knight
I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

OK, i seached my feelings like a good old jedi and voted

All Star Superman.

Morrison can go really weird places and repeat cliches of action classics time to time but when he's good, he's really good at writting a super hero comics and the result is All Star Superman.

I'm a Batman guy and i voted All Star Superman...

THE SHAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kingdom Come was really an eye opener. I think that's probably the story that started the "Hero vs Hero" craze.

Great selection .... but I'm gonna really have to brew on this one. Welcome Back Frank is one of my very faves. But .... I remember reading the 1st issue of the Batman Year One comic in a mall in Charleston, SC & just being blown away. Give me a day or two to mull.

Out of this list, This Man This Monster. A perfect story completely told in one issue. Filled with hear, soul, pathos and double meanings (is the “Monster” Ben or is it Reed?). Plus dramatic Kirby/Lee storytelling.

Next from this list is Batman: Year One.

Honorable mention would be Avengers Under Siege by Roger Stern, John Buscema and Tom Palmer. Perfect in every way.

I am shocked and a little hurt that you didn't put The Dark Phoenix Saga. And as a Storm fan, Life Death is an amazing story.

If I got off the list it's the original Age of Apocalypse.

But all time for me, it's Dark Phoenix Saga. That's when we all believed characters were dead dead. And they killed off the sweetheart of the X-Men.

Sorry. I actually opened 10 polls, so i couldn't put everything which came to my mind in the end. Some of the titles added by the moderators later on. May be they can add Dark Phonixe Saga as well ?
