Charlize still looks great and she commands attention on screen. I wouldn't mind her in the role. Certainly better than a younger actress without presence (Jessica Alba's Invisible Woman, Kate Bosworth's Lois Lane, Emilia Clarke's Sarah Conner - calling it).
Jolie directing? Um, not sold.

Wow! Blunt is a talented actress, no question, but this is some bad casting IMO if this holds true.
I know Marvel has been after Blunt for years now and she has turned them down multiple times. Seems in Marvel's desperation to attach her to a role they've lost sight of what this character looks like.

Looks don't matter when casting comic book adaptations, the studios hire the best actor for the job.

They will probably modify the comic book character to look like the movie actress, I'm pretty sure they've done it with other characters.
Although it's not like they're too bothered with consistency, they've had 3 different actors play the role of Howard Stark and 2 different actors playing War Machine over the course of the MCU movies.

Lol; I will believe it when I see it. I feel like Blunt in this role has been a "done deal" since IM2

I really like Emily Blunt, but I'd never imagine her to be or even choose her to play Ms. Marvel, she looks nothing like her. Marvel has taken Carol Danvers away from Ms. Marvel and promoted her to full fledged Captain Marvel, which I guess EB could play and be made to look like that version of the character. I could have imagined her in the Black Widow role she was originally supposed to play versus CM, in the end it is what it is. As I've said before these movies are "adaptations" and thus can take any shape or form the studios see fit. And to their credit I've been pretty pleased with the majority of their decisions, casting and otherwise.
