I read something like this a while back in a GI Joe 2 interview, they asked Tatum if he would be interested in a superhero movie and they claimed that he said he would love to play Gambit, that he loved the character, and wanted to make sure he was portrayed with a Cajun accent. It doesn't surprise me that Lauren Donner said this, a lot of studios want Tatum because he allegedly draws a large female fan base.

I'd love a Gambit movie, one of my favorite characters (being that I'm from New Orleans) but I would rather a different actor, I always pictured Timothy Olyphant as an awesome choice, but he's probably too old now.

All that said though, I'd still see it if made.

Seriously, I stand by my statement that a monkey would make better casting idea's for comic book characters outside of Marvel Studios

By all that's logical in the world, the next Gambit should be Josh Holloway. Nobody else

I actually like Tatum. I don't see him as Gambit though. Maybe another super hero. He has the look IMO.

Ditto. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't like him. I thought he was hilarious in 21 Jump Street.

Gambit he is not.

Tatum doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as he does some of you guys but I don't see him as Gambit either. Agreed on Josh Holloway. He'd be perfect and he is a good actor.

I'm pretty doubtful if FOX'd ever make a solo Gambit film. They even cancelled the Magneto one. Wolverine is their only prized X-man and it doesn't seem that will change anytime soon.

They didn't really cancel the Magneto film so much as turn it into X-Men: First Class.

They cancelled it and added some parts of the script to the First Class script.
