Tryign to get through Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

The books isn't as fun or smart as the author thinks it is, I think.

I'd agree with that assessment.

Just picked up and started the new Steven King novel, Under the Dome, the $9.00 amazon price was just too good to pass up. Like all recent King novels, the premise sounds good. One can always hope that he's straightened out his finishes.

Dan Brown's Lost Symbol was the pits. It's the 1st novel I've read by this billionaire and I have to say "he's not a very good writer" at least with this novel. The ending absolutely blew and anyone with half a brain could figure out the identity of the villain a sentence into his background introduction.
Beyond silly on so many levels, this book was paper vomit.

The King Raven Trilogy by Stephen Lawhead.

It's a retelling of the Robin Hood story in a more historically accurate setting with an interesting twist on the Hood character. I finished the first book ("Hood") and am now on the second, "Scarlet". It is actually quite interesting that the author totally changed his "voice" for the second, while the Scarlet character is now telling us his story.

Definitely worth a try, especially at $15.99 each. They are the oversized paperbacks. The titles are Hood, Scarlet and Tuck. Hope you like 'em.
