Funko's Pop!

I am just blown away by how popular this lazy vinyl figure line has become. The breadth of it's licencing is staggering and it's lack of originality is equally staggering.

I just saw the new NFL line and it's amazing that Nick Foles, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Andrew Luck are the same figure with different uniforms, and people eat this crap up!!!!

OOOOOOOsaaaaaaaa

This of course is just my opinion, and I am sure there are many fans of Funko's Pop toys out there.

I know Rocket is a huge collector, and I firmly believe in collecting what you love, so for that I commend him, but I just don't see the appeal.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I've yet to see the NFL Pops, so I can't really speak to those but I've always thought the Game of Thrones line was handled nicely.. At first I didn't understand the fascination either, but one mildly interested purchase led to another and that was that.

For me, it's simple. The more I acquire, the more I want despite my interest having waned significantly over the past few months.. There's a certain appeal to accruing a large amount of characters from your favorite properties. Granted, my collection is barely even a fraction of what Rocket, and other serious Funko collectors, have.

You never know, one day you might just see one and say, "That's actually pretty cool."

I've never thought of it that way.

I think it's fun to see characters in a standard, goofy template. I do understand what you mean though.

Of course, I used to collect Dunnys, which are kind of similar.

Just started getting into these, but the NFL and NBA characters are on the unoriginal side, pretty lame

Now, now, now.

Dont be like all the rest of the world who look at our collectibles and say, what a waste of money.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I don't get these either, why do they have black eyes? Then again, why do I have a load of Dark Horse zippo lighters, when I don't even smoke! Horses for courses.
