"Lipstick on a Pig" - Thoughts?
I'm assuming you've all either heard it or read about it. What do you think? Is the comment indicative of something deeper or is the media making something out of nothing?

I think the part that gets me is that it seems the closer we get to the big election, the bigger the shoes seem to look on Obama. Is it just me or is he seeming less comfotable with the microphone these days? He doesn't seem to present himself as confident and as articulate as he did when he first came out of the gate. This is not to say necessarily that he's not up for the job as much as it is to say that he's looking awfully unnerved up on the podium of late.

the comment was meant to point out that although mccain is preaching change, that no actual changes will be made. what it is, is what it is.
and i have to agree that obama looks stressed, nervous and lacks the confidence he had earlier.

It's the kind of thing a more seasoned campaigner would likely not have said. Regardless the intent of the words, the perception is negative is some way.
I bet my lunch money he knew immediately after saying it that he stepped in something.

I like the fact that he has the balls to call it like it is.
But as usual the media is making something out of nothing.

Something out of nothing, IMO. The Lipstick on a pig statement means you can dress something up but that'll never change how it is. The only reason the GOP candidates are getting upset is because they don't get it and are trying to portray their VP choice to a Pitbull with lipstick.
He wasn't trying to make any conotations/comparisons and the only reason I can see the GOP raise a stink over it is because they just have nothing of substance to attack him on.
As far as O's speeches... he seems very comfortable in front of crowds (Mile High Stadium, OH and IN recently). The interviews are what seem to be hurting. Whether it's being bullied by Bill-O or a snoozefest with Olbermann, he needs to be more consistent and assertive and not overthink each response in an attempt to be PC and not hurt anyone's feelings.

I seriously thought she sounded dumb with her comment about the what the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull is. What else can she come up with!?
