Yes, it's boring, but it's so much more than that. It's literally everything about it.
I don't find it fun to play, to watch, to listen to. I find the concept at it's core to be inane.
The rules.
The size of the field.
All designed to keep things from happening.
The skill involved doesn't impress me. Nor can I solve a Rubik's cube in three seconds... but my response to each is "So what?".
The only reason the sport is popular is because (1) it's the World's equivalent of baseball - a place to drink in the summer, and (2) it's the easiest/cheapest sport in the world to pick up and start playing.

Bills caught a break tonight. It kinda sucks to see one guy have probably the worst game of his life in the playoffs.

lol, idk, Goff had a pretty horrendous SB against the Pats.
But no, before this year, Andrews was one of the best TE's for many years. 2 crucial mistakes by him in the 4th really cost them tonight. I know the Bills still would've had time to get a game winning FG, but if that game goes to OT, I think Balt pulls it out.

The World Cup is great! Other tournaments like the Euro and Champions League are also fun. Do you follow the English Premier League at all? I started getting into it back in 2014 and Liverpool became my team.

You and my brother are Liverpool fans. Never Walk Alone indeed.
We watch a lot of EPL. Hubby is an Everton fan. I am for ManU, but not psycho invested. Truth be told I have a super cute Arsenal track jacket, but my other friend was already an Arsenal fan so I chose to main another team.
A bunch of us are on the list to try and get to a World Cup game next year.

As good a reason as any for us Yanks. I chose Liverpool because I loved the fans and atmosphere, and the city had a blue-collar feel with a team that had a rich history but hadn't won a top-flight title since 1990...so when they won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020, that was a lot of fun. I thought about backing Everton at the start because Tim Howard was their goalkeeper...I saved myself some heartache there

Notre Dame decided to take the second quarter off last night. But can not wait to see who drafts those Ohio State players. I will take their OT please.

You know what make great gifts and last forever - soccer kits. Hubby was wearing them long before he knew me, but he now has more than 40. All sorts of teams (No Mexico! Boo!) and some wild designs. He just the new Miami kit for a Christmas because the colors are dope. I need to get him a Union kit bc it’s the one Philly team we do not hate.
We came up with a fun thing that whoever wins the World Cup, we get their jersey with the new star.

Nice. I haven't bought any soccer stuff beyond a Liverpool scarf, but I do enjoy how varied teams' alternate kits can look...some are pretty cool, and some I just have no idea what the marketing teams were thinking

If you don’t want logos and such, I highly recommend looking at National team kits. Still fun without the nonsense of Royal Caribbean across the ass (looking at you Miami).
Germany has some of my favorite. I do not like Argentina bc it is all just the same. Which I know they pride themselves on. Obviously I had to finally by hubs one because Messi got his cup.
