Spider-man Wall Sculpture (Creative License) Bowen touch up

Hi! I?m very new to the forum. I used to be a big statue collector and had some great stuff from the earlier times of statue collecting. I just recently rebought the Spider-Man wall sculpture by Randy Bowen. I noticed on Spidey?s back there are some small spots the painter missed. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what kind of paint I can use to touch them up. Or maybe if someone knows what was originally used that would be great! To me even after all the years of what?s come since and despite it being a wall hang this piece is still the definitive Spider-Man Statue! Thanks for your time!

Take a trip to Michael?s go to the paint section and they will be an isle full of 1 oz paint bottles. Super cheap from .99 and up. If you are looking to paint blue get multiple blue bottles of paint closest to the shade u need. if need red get multiple red. Chances you will get a perfect match right off the shelf is slim but it does happen if you select wisely. Take a cell phone pic of the back of the statue with the missing paint. Make sure it?s in natural lighting. When selecting the paint a couple matches will be blatantly obvious at first glance but it?s best to screw open the tops and see what the actual color looks like inside the bottle. You may have to mix two colors to get a good match. Overall this is like $4-5 of paint tops. If mixing paint get a paper plate, squirt a small dime sized sample of your mixing colors. Grab a tiny bit from each and mix it together in a separate area on your plate. Less is more. You should get your perfect mixture this way ?or at least close to it.

You will need a set of paint brushes. They have a nice of brushes in a bag on the end caps for like $4.99. You will also need to buy sealer. I recommend ModPodge. Matte should work just fine. If you Paint straight of the bottle on a sealed statue and let it dry the paint touch up job will look very dull and blatantly obvious it was a touch up. After touch up paint is applied? let it dry and then get a small amount of ModPodge Matte and coat it over the dull newly dried acrylic paint. When this dries it should be a pretty close match to the original finish. THIN COATS for paint and modpodge. If it?s a glossier finish you may want to opt for the ModPodge Satin instead of matte, but matte should do it.
