Great thread. All of my collectibles will go to my kids. In the present state of my collection, that would present a daunting task so I see myself scaling back over the years until the collection is in a more manageable state.

Underdog - Agreed about the will. The wife & I have a trust set up, which doesn't cost that much more than a will and is much easier when you're gone from a legal standpoint.

Carlos - LOL, you got it, bud. That's like half my collection!

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

People who do not like paying taxes and who have kids should get advice from an attorney re a trust.

I plan on having my art buried with me in vacuum sealed containers, so that thousands of years from now when our civilization is long gone our human descendents will stumble upon the art and eventually display it in their version of the "British Museum."

This way future generations can write lengthy dissertations about how our species must have looked in our time...males with rippling muscles (some anatomically disproportionate with their skeletal structure) and females that must have had massive back pains from carry so much weight up top. Plus wonder about the genetic outliers that were green and mean!

Good question though, I haven't really thought about any of my collectibles and where they would go - no kids yet - and my wife only has a vague idea of how much they are "worth."
