I only buy Tiny Titans these days. The rest of DC's slate is nothing but grim-n-gritty nihilistic nonsense, and Joephisto's Marvel is a no-fly zone. Once Tiny ends, I'm done altogether. There's more fun to be found in collecting art than in collecting comics.

I'm confused by the definition that many here are using. To you guys, "comics" means monthly books (and ostensibly superhero books put out by a couple of publishers)?

To me, comics are the full range, sequential art with words: comics. So, yes, I continue to read a lot of comics. And I mean a lot. In the last 2 months I've read about 74 self-published ocmics, on top of fantastic comics like 20th Century Boys, Faüne, Blacksad, Asterios Polyp, Pluto, Jan's Atomic Heart, George Sprott, Moving Pictures, The Hunter, Red: A Haida Manga, The Abominable Charles Christopher, Galaxion, Nightschool. And, yes, I read Star Wars Omnibus. And Tiny Titans. The new Scott Pilgrim has been read, too.

Funny thing you mention in this thread , I was wandering the exact same thing myself . I used to like a lot of the Batman titles but don't even bother checking them out any more , like some mentioned you have to buy other series just to complete the story ( wich isn't worth reading when you finish it )
Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way !

if I buy any now its trades - but even those are collecting older stories. Sometimes I'll pick up the odd one shot.
Comics have changed too much from what i enjoyed about them. Seen many a good character's book ruined over the last 10 years or so to help finance marvel's latest CGI adventure at the box office.
So if I buy comics now its old ones to satisfy myself with the nostalgia.
