dewback question
Hi everyone
I have been collecting the gentle giant statues for a couple of months (I have only discovered they exist) and I have finally managed to get the sandtrooper and dewback off ebay. It cost me just over £200 from a seller in France and it has just been delivered. The statue is in perfect condition which is a relief, anyway, upon trying to place the sandtrooper on the saddle it seems that every time I push him down he seems to pop back up again. Anyone else had this problem and is it a simple case of removing some of the plastic off the peg under the sandtrooper. I want to be careful as I don't want to mess up as this is a great statue. Any replies will be appreciated. I have taken a photo to give you an idea of what the problem is.

I didn't have that problem with mine, but my only complaint is that the peg of the Dewback itself isn't exactly flush with the sand base. It seems to be that way on every one released.
As for your problem, is it possible that you haven't pushed him all the way into the saddle? Try holding him with your fingers around his waist/thighs in order not to damage the backpack when you push him down. You can be more forceful that way without worrying about damaging the piece. HTH

Welcome to the forum Bondyboo. Sounds like you may have picked up the rare "Pop Goes the Sandtrooper" variant.

Looks like the Sand trooper has a bad hemorrhoid and refuses to ride in that saddle.

Just had another go at pushing the sandtrooper into place and for some strange reason it hasn't popped back up again, so problem solved. Thanks for the replies(and humour). I can now relax and admiring this awesome statue. [IMG]

So that's what it means to be hung like a Sandtrooper.

Sounded like a virgin dewback. It was a little tight but eventually you worked it in there. Next time, it'll be much easier.
