IRON FIST REVIEW
POSITIVES
* Sculpt is spectacular as expected with Daniel Bel
* Pose is be the most dynamic I've seen on any 1/4 statue
* Portrait is the best XM have produced so far.
* Paint job on the headsculpt, particularly the bandana is superb
* Switch out torsos give the statue a completely different feel
* No QC issues as usual
NEGATIVES
* Colors are too muted.
* Light up switch is a pain to get to
* It would be a crime to leave either torso in the box. Should have come with a torso stand and the headsculpt should have been duplicated on both torsos.
The two original issues I had with Iron Fist were the flaming arm and the dragon tail angle on the bare chested torso. But neither of those bother me as much as the paint job. It seems on every piece, XM choose the perfect colors and then dull them down a few shades. The flames on the arm should pop. The red on the door should pop. The bronze on the dragon should pop. Nothing pops....
Some of the pictures I'm seeing have the contrast turned up and are not representative of the actual paint job.
Despite my issues, this is in my top 5 XM pieces, and I plan to keep it in my collection for a good while.
SCORE: 8/10
.

I don't get that at all. There are a select few statues like Darkness that have muted colors but that actually serves the statue well. Darkness is supposed to be encircled and surrounded by darkness after all.
From the picture I have seen from all various people and shots, I just don't get a muted sense of color at all...at least not on Iron Fist himself. Maybe the door and dragon...but since I don't have it in person I can not know for certain.
Also, the dull flames on the arm are best muted because it would not allow the light up fist to have as big an impact if it was. When you cut the light on, that dull color of the flames really allows the fist to shine moreso than it would if the flames were painted brighter. It's the fist that is most important and should stand out.
