I feel the same way about Netflix tackling the "Born Again"storyline for their Daredevil. It's too early. DD needs to be developed more.

Jeesh .... mental-block, joe.

Yeah, it's just a money grab. None of know this Jean. This story is premature in her development, as was her one climactic scene in the last X-film.

I think a rental might even be a stretch. If someone wants to pay for my ticket then I'll go. Otherwise, I'll catch it on Netflix or HBO.

They are going with the idea that you already know. The other movies have already made the point of her being the pheonix, so they can be lazy and jump straight to it. It's the same as a Batman movie without an original story. Or Spiderman homecoming, the orgin isn't required.

This is another example of trying to force a franchise into "Infinity War" position without laying the groundwork. I agree with WKTF in that they haven't "earned" the Phoenix story yet.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I'm very biased when it comes to my X-Men, but you guys are making some legit complaints I totally agree with.

There is plenty of material that hasn't been touched. Where do they go after this? Seems short sighted

I guess we can't really expect them to go minor storylines. They probably have to narrow it down to the popular ones, due to the frequency of the movies.

But as Vecchio1 says, this is the pinnacle of X-Men storylines...at least I think it is. Slapping together a quick Dark Phoenix storyline has already been done by Fox once and it was a disaster. Why not give this amazing story time to develop rather than duct tape together another hastily conceived potential train wreck? The answer is because they don't care all that much, and I understand that. It's all about the Benjamins to them, but that is very short sighted when you have such a rich and amazing story to tell.
