How Powerful is Dr.Doom compared to other big villains?
I was always intrigued by Doom and his powers, but never stopped to compare them to other big villains like Apoc, Sinister,Magneto etc..
Didn't fancy a vs poll thread here, as I would just like to know the summary of Dooms powers and how he stands up to the other big villains villains. Is he considered a strong foe in the MU?

So he himself, is powerful enough to take on big villains with his own hands, or does he need his army?

Well the technology contained in the suit is dangerous alone, but his mastery of sorcery makes him one of the most powerful non-cosmic villains in the Marvel universe.

I'd say Doom is about as powerful as any non-powered character can get.
His mastery of science and sorcery make extremely powerful, but even more importantly give him a power set that almost no one can counter.
He's the villian version of Batman in the sense that given the right circumstance I would be willing to bet Doom has a chance to win against any opponent. Not only has he usurped the Power Cosmic from the Silver Surfer, he's beaten the Beyonder.
He may not have the raw power of characters like Apocalypse or Magneto, but I can see him defeating them in battle.

Wow, I never knew he abosrbed the cosmic power of Silver Surfer. So, he's quite the powerful villain then.

I agree with Tet. I'd also wager, like Iron Man, he's found a way to counter Magneto's magnetic power so my guess is he could take down Magneto. Apocalypse is a different story but I also think Frank's on target there.
That image of Doom lifting Mjolnir is just a cover teaser, for those who don't know. In the actual issue he was unable to lift it.

Doom didn't end up keeping the Power cosmic, but the fact that he could do it is impressive enough.

One of my favorite FF stories of all time, FF #57-60. He was able to fool the Surfer into accepting his hospitality and then used a machine he'd created to draw the power from him and into himself. The ending of how he was defeated was great, as well, though no clear explanation as to how his defeat channeled the power back to the Surfer was offered.
