Smile Hollow vs solid statue.

Hi guys, just joined this great site, this is my first post, was wondering what others thought, if you have a really nice statue in your collection that you like and it's hollow, should it matter? Does it cheapen the statue in your eyes? Even though you may like it a lot. I ask because I collect superman statues, I bought one from the phillipines I like ( not terribly expensive) but it's light weight, feels hollow. Thanks to all that respond.

to the Forum Mightyq

If I really like a statue it doesn't bother me if it is hollow and lightweight. I actually appreciate it being hollow if it is a bigger statue like my Sideshow Man-Thing. Much easier to position etc. But I also like pvc's so am used to lightweight figures, although I don't think I would want them that light I would probably still buy them. I think once they were on display why would it matter.

Again to the Forum

I like my statues to have weight and I like when they are solid.

I don't mind hollow statues as long as they are made out of high quality resin.

If you like it, nothing else matters. I would like mine to be well-cast and solid, but if it is well-made but hollow, I wouldn't mind it that much. Not like you're gonna pick it up much.

Post pics of your collection, mang!

And...

Welcome to the madness!

As long as it looks good and the integrity of the piece is solid enough not to teeter over at the slightest touch, I'm fine with light and hollow.

I prefer solid over hollow, the first time you pick up the Hulk PF to put on his base wouldnt have the same impact if it was light and hollow.

The Iron man 1:2 scale maquette lost a lot of its appeal for me when i found out it was eggshell thin.
