Venom just swiped at him is about to follow it with a right, and spidey is about to "thwip" out of the way. It tells a story, and it's not over the top with design choices.
I also think people expect too much when something is announced. Now if it doesn't meet your fancy for the price that's fine but artistically and design wise the statue is fine.

Not saying it couldn't be better or that I'm buying, and I do think Venom looks better than Spidey here, and the price may not be worthwhile, but...
this is the
kind of statue that I tend to appreciate, regarding Spider-man. Spider-man is one of, if not THE BEST example of possible, unique poses, in the history of fictional characters. Very few characters move like him. Personally, all my statues of Spider-man, and those I will continue to consider, have that element in common.
As great as the sculpt and paint on SS Back in Black is, for example, I would not want it, as that pose would work for so many characters and isn't distinctly identifiable as Spider-man.
