Marvel gets Postage Stamps!!
CLICK!
No teams!?! So the Thing gets a stamp, but no Fantastic Four. I think the article is right the controversy will be with Elecktra and Spider-Woman (sorry MB) getting a stamp, but not Daredevil or Thor?!?

I like the breakdown! Wolverine is in it!
But come come, Storm or Jean Grey before Spiderwoman any day of the week.

Yeah, just what I was thinking. This is an odd selection:
• Spider-Man (check)
• The Incredible Hulk (check)
• Sub-Mariner (check)
• The Thing (hmmm...)
• Captain America (check)
• Silver Surfer (check)
• Spider-Woman (nah, no offense Marvelboi)
• Iron Man (check)
• Elektra (nah)
• Wolverine (oh god, do I even have to say it? )
So DC stamps didn't have teams, but come on, the FF has to be included! And no Thor??? No Daredevil??? Or even Dr. Strange? Ugh!

If you're going to represent X-men should it be Wolverine? I guess if we're going after mass appeal (sorry BC he's become too much a one trick pony, except what Whedon is doing with him). Dr. Strange should be in there waay before Subby, or Surfer. I fear we may see Ultimate Spider-man and a computer colored photo Horn Electra piece .
If I was King of Earth:
• Spider-Man (Ditko)
• The Incredible Hulk (Severin or Steranko)
• Sub-Mariner (Buscema)
• The Thing (Perez)
• Captain America (Kirby)
• Silver Surfer (Buscema)
• Spider-Woman (um, Infantino?)
• Iron Man (Layton)
• Elektra (Miller)
• Wolverine (Byrne)
That being said I'd want Romita Sr, Gil Kane, Starlin included among others.

Or The Wasp or Scarlett Witch, Marvel's earliest female heroes. Of couse, my preference would be The Invisible Woman but if anyone's to represent the FF it should be bashful blue eyed Benjy!

Storm, Jean Gray, or Invisible Woman would have hit more mass appeal than spider-woman as well!
AS far as Dr. Strange, come on! While Silver Surfer or Namor may be questionable, I'd rather see them there than STrange.

Okay, I'm looking at this from a "classic" perspective: going with single-character stamps for Marvel is a bad idea. DC can get away with it, because their heroes were introduced in their own titles and later joined teams - and even then, their own adventures took precedence. Regarding Marvel, some of these characters were introduced as part of a team and are still associated with that team. So no Thing stamp, but an FF stamp. No Wolverine stamp, but an X-Men stamp. Also, that gives you the more popular, team-oriented heroines. Maybe they should go with a strictly Silver Age set.
And I'll say it again: no Thor nor Daredevil = absurd!
