Poison Ivy Returns has instantly become one of my favorite statues of all. It's sculpted beautifully and it's highly detailed. Despite being a "Bishoujo" interpretation of the character, the character's original personality shines through with her relaxed, flirtatious pose and mischievous smile.
I have her posed next to my Harley Quinn and Catwoman statues. They look great together.
By the way, all three statues are in the same scale. Harley Quinn has slimmer proportions, but she is of the same height as the others. Catwoman looks smaller due to her compact pose and lack of traditional base. Poison Ivy is also going to look smaller than other Bishoujos, but that's only due to her sitting pose and lack of base.
At one point, I was ready to spend serious money on the first Poison Ivy. But I'm glad I waited. I actually prefer the new Poison Ivy. Her hair doesn't hang over her head so heavily and is not so voluminous, so more of her face is visible. Her clothing has greater detail, and I personally like the human flesh tone more than the green skin. Don't get me wrong, though. The first edition is still absolutely gorgeous. If I find it at a fair price, I'll definitely add it to my collection. Both are superior to the ARTFX+ version, to me at least.
All in all, I will say that the Bishoujo treatment suits Poison Ivy very well. She's always been depicted as a sultry seductress, a femme fatale. She's known for using her wicked wiles to lure in unsuspecting individuals into her deadly plant traps. I feel this statue definitely communicates that. Kotobukiya knocked it out the park with this one. A keeper for sure!
