Too pricey? What should I do??

Furie,

I've never heard of this character. I googled her and got this...

"After the advent of creator-owned properties in comics, Kirby continued to produce new characters. He was at the forefront of the creator-owned movement in 1981-83 with his Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers and Silver Star, published by Pacific Comics. However Kirby's style was not widely accepted as it once had been, and both titles were canceled in early 1984 due to low sales. "

...from this web site:

This looks like great Kirby art and it's a creator-owned character. I'd say it's all based on what you're willing to pay. Personally, I'd go my top dollar for Thor, Captain America or FF...but my top dollar may be different than yours. I think this page is a great one, good representation of Kirby's flair and style.

Your call, dude!

Kirby did a lot of crappy comics after he left Marvel. One of the reasons some of these never caught on, was after Kirby left, Neal Adams became the industry standard and Kirby could not adapt. It is comics like these that make me really appreciate how important Stan Lee's contribution to the early Marvel characters and stories actually was.

Before the hate mail starts, I am not saying that Kirby was not great. I am only saying that by this point in his career the industry had passed him by.

As far as the page goes, it is still a Kirby. Marvelboi pays more than that for New Avengers pages that just came out.

Compare Kirby's mid 1970s Captain America to the work he did with Stan on Tales of Suspense or the early Captain America titles. You'll see that Madjazz is absolutely right.

Let it go. I need to be in love w/ the art. One day I'll buy a great Kirby. I'm still bummed I lost that 1976 Perez Master of Kung Fu.

Anyone ever sees any 70's Master of Kung Fu orginal art -- please PM me.
