They may have abandoned the license. It happened before. They had the Green Lantern license. I think Howard Chan once said in an interview that it is a business decision. If they see that they'd not make money and there are more rewarding projects to pursue, they would have no choice but to abandon a license. Even though they already secured it and previewed it. He even mentioned his team already worked out the kinks to make Reynold's CGI suit light up/glow impressively on 1/6 scale. But later it didn't make sense anymore to produce them. Because the movie tanked and they had better things to allocate company resources.

I really liked the movie in concept. That opening was amazing and the world felt imaginative and beautiful.

The main issue was I didn't buy the main characters and their relationship. In particular Valerian never made an impression on me. I really think with some better writing and directing this could have been a classic.

I agree. As a kick back and absorb the visual overload (especially on Blu-ray) Valerian is quite something.

Being posted to the coming Soon means nothing. Those. Alrrian figures have been ip there since last year. They still have the Hot Toys Helicarrier from 2014 on that list as well as the 66 Batmobile. Sideshow has just been lazy and haven’t flushed out that list. They should work with Hot Toys and removing anything that not going to happen.
