So through questioning on sideshowfreaks and here figured out there is a protective film on top of the base. It is mirrored

Started to unbox, while not blown away I am very happy. Was not expecting it to be nearly as heavy as it is. Must still check lighting.
Mine is extremely weathered (but as others have said not as much on bottom). I will be very happy to have this falcon on display.
