Only 8 episodes? Perhaps this was an early attempt at a possible web series prior to the Netflix deal?

I really don't understand the appeal of this character outside a bit player in the Captain America mythos, but to each their own. Just seems attaching the name "Marvel" is all it takes nowadays in order for many to tune in.

After Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell playing Peggy Carter was the most charming aspects of the first Captain America movie. Fans wanted more of her and now we are getting a short run series where they explore her character further, while she continues to kick more ass.
This is a much better deserving show, than the redundant Gotham show from DC and Fox. So yeah it takes more than just the name "Marvel" for me to tune in, but their characters makes the decision little easier.

I agree she was one of the best things about CA1. Now that Marvel are not giving Black Widow a movie a Netflix series would be nice.

I agree. I enjoyed the short on the IM 3 bluray and looking forward to this series.

Pretty sure Marvel is trying to make a cohesive film universe. Making a short TV series with a well received character while establishing the early foundations of SHIELD is a win win for them.

Going to give this a shot despite having zero interest in seeing this particular character being fleshed out. Hopefully the writing is good and it feels like Marvel, unlike Agents of SHIELD.

Saw this tweet earlier today.
devincf: Kevin Feige was in the editing room on AGENT CARTER. This show will be Marvel Studios on TV, not another Marvel TV show
